IELTS – International English Language Testing System (Updated 2025)

There are two main types of IELTS tests:

  • IELTS Academic – for students who wish to pursue higher education abroad.
  • IELTS General Training – for work, migration, and non-academic purposes.

A third format, IELTS SELT (Secure English Language Test), is used for UK Visas and Immigration requirements.

Total Test Duration: 2 hours 45 minutes (excluding breaks)

Additionally, the IELTS SELT (Secure English Language Test) is specifically tailored for UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) requirements, ensuring compliance with government standards.

The test evaluates four key skills: Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking. The Speaking section is conducted face-to-face with a certified examiner, ensuring a real-life conversational experience. The total duration of the exam is 2 hours and 45 minutes (excluding breaks).
