GRE Overview — Updated Format

The Graduate Record Examination (GRE) is a globally accepted, computer-based test used by graduate schools to assess applicants’ readiness for advanced study.

The test measures critical skills such as Verbal Reasoning, Quantitative Reasoning, and Analytical Writing, which are essential for success in graduate-level education. Format & Duration

     Total Duration: 1 hour 58 minutes for the entire exam

     Sections:
 Analytical Writing: 1 Issue task — 30 minute
Verbal Reasoning: 2 sections — Section 1: 18 minutes (12 questions), Section 2: 23 minutes (15 questions)
Quantitative Reasoning: 2 sections — Section 1: 21 minutes (12 questions), Section 2: 26 minutes (15 questions)
